HG Academy
We are currently no longer accepting registrations for certified Law Enforcement, Corrections & Fire Department Honor Guard members for our 2026 Honor Guard Academy. This 32-hour class is designed with proper protocol for Law Enforcement, Fire and K-9 services. Mandatory attendance is required for teamwork method of training at each station. The HGA is designed for the new or veteran member. Whether you have one member needing to attend, or ten, this sensitive training will help guide your agency when dealing with events from colors posting and presentation to full-service line of duty death service.
The HGA registration process is online ONLY. Please see below to register up to 10 students from your agency per registration form. Please acknowledge the “Hold Harmless” agreement during the registration process. Payment must be tendered at time of registration. Registration only will result in re-registration with payment. Spots will not be held until payment is confirmed.
All members should bring required HG equipment for training. Full dress uniform required for final day mock funerals.

Hats, gloves, mourning bands, HG duty belt, side arm, Class A or HG dress uniform, Shoes. Local agencies may bring colors, rifles and saber
The Police Honor Guard of Broward County reserves the right to cancel the class due to logistical reasons if deemed necessary (i.e., low enrollment, acts of God, terror etc…) Once the class is at capacity, we will no longer accept registrations, and a notice will be posted on our website.
Cancellations
Any cancellations made past ______, will not receive a full refund unless the HGA is cancelled by the facilitator, then a full refund will be issued.

We request all students please self-monitor your health prior to attending. We will be taking precautions for your health and safety while in attendance, however if you feel any symptoms (fever, sore throat), we ask you please do not attend. This will be a large class, and each Law Enforcement Officer would like to remain 100% healthy.
Each attending student must read the “HOLD HARMLESS” agreement. Please click on the below link. You will acknowledge by checking the box during the registration process online.
For local hotel information, please research near the facility address. There are dozens of hotels within the 5-10 mile radius to fit your budget.
